The Rock Star Years

At the time I was playing keyboards, recording and touring with Lee Aaron, aka the “Metal Queen”. This was quite a stretch for me at times considering I’m trained as a Jazz and Classical musician, but it was fun nonetheless to be part of the big Rock & Roll machine…

We spent four months recording an album at Metalworks recording studio in Toronto (owned by the band Triumph). The release was followed by a three month tour of Europe (Germany, Austria, France, Holland, Switzerland, and England), which was much like living the movie “Spinal Tap”. I could tell you road stories that would curl your hair… Oh, yeah, in those days I was known as Jimi “G” Gelcer. To this day, Lee is one of the best bosses I’ve ever had.
